The wav files have now been removed. CP will stay up for Clay's fans to enjoy, but he has become far too big of a star for me to keep up with, so there will be no more updates here.

Congratulations to Clay on all of his success, and we're looking forward to great things from him in the future!

In order to cut down on the bandwidth problems, I will be removing the sound files from this site. If you haven't done so already and are interested, please download and save them, because soon they may no longer be available!

I'm also going to try to find some other ways to preserve bandwidth, because as it is right now, this site is never available. Thanks for your patience.

Okay, so we're having some major problems with bandwidth, so if you are seeing this page, you don't know how lucky you are. I tried to add 6 more pictures from Rolling Stone, but I can't tell if they worked or not, because even I can't see the site. Thanks for your patience--I'm trying to resolve the bandwidth problems, and with any luck we'll be switching to a paid web hosting service soon and this won't be a problem.

Added 20 new pics. I'm going to try to reorganize the images a bit better so they will appear more chronologically, so you may have to poke around a bit to see which ones are new.

CELEBRATE! Clay's single will debut at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100! Clay sold 392,975 cds, making it the best selling single since Elton John's "Candle In the Wind 1997." Mr. Studdard (at #2), sold 285,917. Now I've gotta go make up a smarmy graphic to mark the occasion!

Well, after less than 24 hours of speculation based on a suspicious-looking scan making its way around the net, it's officially official, courtesy of Charlotte.com. The new cover of Rolling Stone!

Clay will be on Live! With Regis and Kelly tomorrow (ABC, 9am EST). It's apparently going to be a re-air of Clay's appearance a couple weeks ago--great for those of us who missed it the first time. Rumor has it that Clay is in LONDON right now.

In Touch Weekly has a nice little article on Clay in their June 23 issue (it's the one with Ashton Kutcher's nasty love triangle on the cover.) It's definitely worth picking up, seeing as how it's only $1.99 and there's a delicious full-page picture of our Clayton.

Added 10 new pictures, including 6 from my all-time favorite Clay interview--"What's up, buddy?" with the Jaded Journalist. Also added 1 new wallpaper.

Added 10 new screen caps from Clay on Oprah--the ones from his Rolling Stone photo shoot.

Thursday, June 12, 2003

I finally got my Clay cd in the mail! At first, BOTW had me pulling my hair out because of that ridiculous choir (which I never liked to begin with), but the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

Tuesday on Oprah, they confirmed that Clay will be gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine--due out June 20!

Thanks to the lurvely MrSpock, I've posted 20 new screencaps of Clay on Oprah earlier this week. :) I have more that I will be posting later.

I've also gotta thank Beth, who tipped me off to something that was seriously screwing with my computer--updates are running a bunch smoother now. THANK YOU, BETH!

Clay's single is now in stores!

Clay will be on the Oprah Winfrey Show (ABC) today at 4pm EST. There are also rumors that Clay will be on the cover of an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone, due out June 20!

I added 10 new pictures. I also added 2 articles to the Message Board.

The Message Board is now working. Yup, the crickets are over there chirping. I started it because I noticed that many of the MBs I go to are becoming frustratingly overcrowded. I intend it to be used for relatively mature discussion. At this point, since I am the sole member, I want to say that posting on that board is the best way to communicate with me if you have questions, comments, or suggestions for this site. It's a lot less cumbersome than email--and let me just say right now I have 14 unread messages in my inbox, so I'm running a little behind. But I'll be going to the MB daily, so I can communicate there easily.

I haven't added anything to the site the past couple days, but I've been spending almost every waking hour staring at this computer screen, surfing the net for info about Clay. I'm going to try to post most of the news/info on the message board to get that ball rolling, so check it out.

Excellent, excellent news, kids! Check out this article coming out in today's New York Times about Clay. (You may need to register to view it, which is free.) It's titled, "Unlikely Pop Star Sells Like the Real Thing," and here's an excerpt:

Executives at RCA, part of BMG, the music division of Bertelsmann, say that producers and songwriters are clamoring to work with him. And even though Mr. Aiken's CD single, which includes "This Is the Night" and a remake of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," does not come out until June 10, it has spent the last two weeks as the best-selling CD on Amazon.com. According to Amazon, it has already sold four times as many copies as the pending CD single by Ruben Studdard, the winner of this latest version of "American Idol."

Posted 10 new pics of Clay performing last night at Z-100's Zootopia.

Hi, guys! I'm going to be doing some updates today, but if you guys have a minute, please take the time to vote for Clayton's Place on the Top 20 American Idol Sites over there on the left. This is embarassing--I'm losing to sites about Julia DeMato and Hadas Shaley. Clayton's Place is currently #50. Since this site isn't listed on Yahoo yet, this is the only way I can get traffic.

I finally got the transcript up from Clay's interview with NY's Z100. If you haven't read it or heard it, it's one of the best interviews I've heard Clay do.

By Grabthar's Hammer, Clay shall be avenged!
Both In Touch and Us Weekly magazines have the AI voting "scandal" on their covers. The Us article was sort of disappointing, but In Touch (with "WAS IT FIXED? Why fans are demanding a recount!" on the cover) went into much more depth.
