Surf Report - April 20, 2003

===================================================================

surfshot.com sez - (my comments in bold italics):

Pretty small at Windansea also but when the occasional waist high sets come there are a few rights breaking in front of the shack. I think we've had this report before - the waves ALWAYS suck here - GO HOME - STAY HOME!

Most waves, specially the lefts, are just a steep drop and getting mushy right after. Another "Blast from the Past!"

This is where we watch the Tourmo Guys practice for The Pipe!

There are some short rights breaking on the very inside to the north of the parking lot where 2 guys are having some fun. - Now this really surprises me...north of the parking lot is the highly localized place - Simmons - Nobody has fun there! Way too dangerous - Fired Coral and Stoned Fish.

Waves size: Knee high

Sets size: Waist high

Sets Interval: 5 to 6 min

Surfers Out: 3 guys

Wind: Calm

Weather: Sunny

Twanger - this morning - April 20, 2003 -

======================================================================

What I say:

Now we're gettin' the Easter Day I'm used to - Sunrise Services in the water.

Made the speed run this morning to WindanSea - Terrible as always - GO HOME - STAY AWAY!

Made the speed run back to the O-Side Pier.

Surfed the south side - uncrowded and pretty good - localism was not a problem today - my car was not vandalized, and I was given a free Bible and coffee when I walked back to it (my car).

Happy Birtday Kris - and Happy Easter to Brian, Eric and Kris!

Later,

BA

Opps Forgot Some Stuff:

Thought I'd better add some disclaimers:

* All of the tales I'm spinning are based upon facts of some sort.
* Most of the tales will be at least 50% factual.

I'm doing this web thing for a few reasons, and it is, and will be, "a work in progress" for a while:

1. It's an easy way for me to organize my "autobiography" so my kids will know a bit more about me.
2. I find this computer and internet stuff fascinating.
3. I was lucky to be able to start surfing - at least in my opinion - in the "Golden Age" of surfing - I do have some yarns to spin regarding those times.
4. This is an efficient way for some of the old guys to touch bases again - I've received a few e-mails from old (err, long-time) friends I've haven't seen in forty years or so - I think that's way cool.
5. I'm still surfing almost every day - and, at least in my opinion - that's a pretty "boss" thing to write about.
6. I think it will be nice, in a couple of years, to maybe look back at how good - or bad - the surf was in any given stretch of time.
