The reservation system we put into effect today, apparently is working as expected!

* Couldn't surf today, even though WindanSea was good.

Why Uncle Billy - we thought you were a local there!

Well kids, I am, but we've got a new way of regulating crowds here...and it just wasn't my turn to go out (surfing).

- Yeah sure - how you gonna do dat - pound everybody? -

No, my children - It works like this:

1.   Anybody that is not in the WSC has to call: 1-800-you-r-a-kook-now-go-home to make a surfing reservation.

2.    The caller must leave the day and time they would like to surf WindanSea - it's highly recommended that most first time callers, or non-surf stars, try to arrange a surfing time between 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM.

3.    The caller will be advised if their request for a reservation has been accepted, and the caller will receive a confirmation number.

4.    WSC Members - stationed at all points around Windan - and armed only with 2-way radios & their mighty fists - will check confirmation numbers before allowing the registrant to go out and catch one wave.

5.   There will always be at least 10 WSC Members in the water, acting as water patrol guys.

6.   Today was my day to verify confirmation numbers, at the LP access area - tomorrow I can surf all day at Windan without any problems - The Jim Fisher is participating in Water Patrol!

7.   The good news is always last: We accept credit cards or cash - ONLY - $10 per wave - prepaid!

Opps Forgot Some Stuff:

Thought I'd better add some disclaimers:

* All of the tales I'm spinning are based upon facts of some sort.
* Most of the tales will be at least 50% factual.

I'm doing this web thing for a few reasons, and it is, and will be, "a work in progress" for a while:

1. It's an easy way for me to organize my "autobiography" so my kids will know a bit more about me.
2. I find this computer and internet stuff fascinating.
3. I was lucky to be able to start surfing - at least in my opinion - in the "Golden Age" of surfing - I do have some yarns to spin regarding those times.
4. This is an efficient way for some of the old guys to touch bases again - I've received a few e-mails from old (err, long-time) friends I've haven't seen in forty years or so - I think that's way cool.
5. I'm still surfing almost every day - and, at least in my opinion - that's a pretty "boss" thing to write about.
6. I think it will be nice, in a couple of years, to maybe look back at how good - or bad - the surf was in any given stretch of time.
