PARMER GRAVE Township 19, Range 13, Section 8
This unmarked grave is the grave of John Simie Parmer. Simie was the son of James Henry Parmer and Lishie Prescott Parmer. He was born on September 27, 1873. Family stories state that Simie never wanted to leave home or go anywhere. When he did leave home to go somewhere for a visit or whatever, he would cry and beg to go back home. In about 1882-1883 at the age of 9-10 years old, John Simie Parmer died. His parents knew of his love for home and his behavior when he was away from home. When the heart-broken parents thought of all this, they could not bear to have Simie taken away from his home to some other place for burial. John Simie Parmer was thus buried in the back yard of the Parmer home near Bethel.
