Modifications; what would you like to do differently?

Many of the mods you see here can be used on any of the Kawasaki Vulcan line of bikes; however, some are specific to the 800 series. That's 'cause I'm an 800 specialist!

For information specific to the 1500A/B/C (BUBF), go to Manjo's site.

For information specific to the 700/750, go to JR Allas' or gYpSy's site.

For information specific to the Nomad and 1500 Classic (and some excellent info applicable to most bikes), go to Gadget's site. This one is the cat's ass!

For information specific to the 1600, go to Jax's Group.

For information specific to the 2000, go to the Rogue Owners Group site.

Sorry, at this point there are no analogous sites specific to the 500s, the Drifters or the Mean Streak. If you know of one, please contact me with the site name, URL, and owner, and I'll be happy to add it!

New owner of a Vulcan 800? Wondering what you can do to it to spice it up? There are a number of "usual" mods that most new owners do first to increase comfort, power, and eye appeal. Would you like to know more?

The Vulcan 800 is notoriously cold-blooded on startup. Are you having to wait for several minutes before the bike will run without the choke? You don't have to... Would you like to know more?

Does the exhaust pop on deceleration? Most likely this is due to the EPA equipment installed at the factory. This can be removed! Doing so will take out the most likely source of that popping, as well as cool off the exhaust (and the rider's legs!). And it won't hurt the bike at all... Would you like to know more?

Want better sound without changing anything else? Can't afford aftermarket performance exhaust pipes? Remove the rear baffle from the OEM exhaust system, and get more sound without hurting (or helping; sorry!) the performance! Would you like to know more?

The Vulcan 800 comes to you with about 46 horsepower (according to the dealer propaganda tags on mine when I first looked at it) to the rear wheel. Want more? You can switch out the OEM air intake system with an aftermarket kit, or you could do it yourself and save big $$! Would you like to know more?

Saddlebags are ubiquitous for anything more than commuting to work and back (that whole "backpack" look just doesn't get it, does it?). Hardbags are expensive. Throwovers aren't! But that yoke that goes over the fender... Want the hardbag look without the hardbag price? Then hardmount the throwovers, and get rid of that yoke forever! Would you like to know more?

Need to relocate the turn signals to install saddlebags? Just tired of the awkward and inconsiderate position of the OEM signals? Want to change those huge and ugly OEM signals out for something more trick and slick? There's a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to do it yourself! Would you like to know more?

Got some "buzz" in your feet and hands at cruising speed? Want to lower the RPM and maybe gain a bit of MPG? Or maybe it's just time to change the chain and sprockets... Would you like to know more?

The factory horn is definitely more of a quiet "excuse me" than a strident "get outta the way!" When that cager in the next lane decides he needs your space more than you do, or the one at the stop sign is daydreaming, you want to get his attention! How about a really loud set of air horns, concealed where nobody can see them? Would you like to know more?
