Moose Fuel Container

These fuel containers are heavy duty and stack and lock together side by side.  They are about 12.5 inches square and 14 inches tall and hold 5 gallons of gas for the snowmobile.

We are required to carry 10 gallons of gas for the snowmachines on the Serum Run.  I wanted fuel containers that would fit in the sled and where thick walled with a secure cap so I don't have to worry about leaks.  I also like the idea of being able to stack or interlock the containers side by side.  This offers more options when it comes to loading them in the sled and securing them.
They fit in the sled side by side and have a good cap with a rubber seal so they should not leak.

Pros

Heavy duty
Stackable and interlocking
Compact size
All parts are replaceable and can be ordered if something is lost or damaged.
They also have trailer racks for the Moose containers which can be a nice feature.

Cons

Not cheap
Requires a separate fuel nozzle which is stored on the side of the container which could be lost or packed with snow if not careful.

Resources

The best price I found on these fuel Containers is $39.95 each.
Since these containers are more expensive you won't find them stocked at just any snowmobile shop.  (Most can order them.)  I found mine at Go Pro Professional Marine & Snowmachine here in Anchorage at 210 E. Potter Drive (ph 562-0813).  They are available on-line at Dennis Kirk for the same price plus shipping.
