08/23/00--A commemorative edition of CATS will be released on September 12, 2000 on VHS. It will include two video tapes. One will be of the movie and the other will be "The Making of Cats". It can now be pre-ordered at Amazon.com

07/26/00--Phyllida Crowley Smith (video Victoria) is expecting her first child. Congrats Phyllida!

07/25/00--Claci Miller (former IV National Tour Sillabub) has been cast as Winnie Tate with the touring company of Annie Get Your Gun. Joining her in the ensemble is Naomi Kakuk (former IV National Tour Cassandra) and Carolyn Ockert (BWay).

07/18/00--Celina Carvajal (former BWay Demeter) has joined the cast of the touring production of Annie Get Your Gun. She is part of the ensemble. Tesha Buss (former BWay Rumpleteazer) has joined the cast of the new musical The Rhythm Club.

07/04/00--Broadway cast changes effective July 10:
~~Maria Jo Ralabate (current Bway Sillabub) will take over the role of Rumpleteazer from Tesha Buss
~~Jessica Dillon (former 4th Nat. tour Victoria) will take over the role of Sillabub from Maria Jo Ralabate
~~Melissa Hathway (current Swing) will take over the role of Victoria from Missy Lay Zimmer
~~Gayle Holstrom will take over the role of Demeter from Celina Carvajal
~~Tamera Shepard (former 4th Nat. tour Swing) will join as a Swing

07/04/00--Michael Gruber (video Munkustrap) will take a two week leave of absence during August from Swing! to perform in Singing in The Rain in Wichita, Kansas

07/04/00--CATS is scheduled to be on Reading Rainbow on August 14, 2000 on PBS. Check your local listings for time and channel.

05/14/00--The Broadway production of CATS has been extended from a closing date of June 25 to September 10, 2000.

04/24/00--A segment on CATS is scheduled to air on the children's show "Reading Rainbow" on April 27, 2000. The main focus of the show is Broadway. Check your local listings for time and channel.

04/09/00--A segment on CATS is scheduled to air on The Daily Show on April 10. The Daily Show airs on the Comedy Central network. Check your local listings for time and channel.

04/09/00--It is rumored that The Visit or Mama Mia will replace CATS at the Wintergarden Theatre in New York. Nothing official has been announced yet.

04/01/00--Veerle Casteleyn (video Jemima) is currently performing the role of Louise in a production of Carousel in Europe.

04/01/00--Jo Gibb (video Rumpleteazer) is currently performing the role of Columbia in a tour of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Europe.

03/28/00--Drew Varley (video Mungojerrie) and Bryn Walters (video Plao/Macavity) can be seen in the video version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which was realesed in the United States today.

02/19/00--The Broadway production of CATS will be closing on June 25, 2000 after 7,397 performances and almost 18 years at the Winter Garden Theatre.

02/03/00--A new CATS tour is being planned to begin in Spring 2001. Date and places have not been announced.

01/11/00--Patrick Mullaney (current Broadway Tumblebrutus) will be taking two months off from CATS beginning January 16 to do another show. Mark Moreau (CATS IV tour dance captain/standby) will be filling in as Tumblebrutus until Patrick returns.

01/11/00--Christopher Gattelli (current Broadway Pouncival) will be leaving CATS to perform in Fosse. His last day will be January 16. Jon-Erik Goldberg (CATS IV tour Pouncival) will be performing the role of Pouncival on Broadway beginning January 17. Good luck to Christopher with his future plans and congratulations to Jon-Erik!

12/27/99--For the past few months, Geoffrey Garrat (video Skimbleshanks) has been working as coreographer for the Dutch production of Oliver Twist. (Thanks goes to Foxy for this info!).

12/19/99--Amy Hamal (CATS IV tour standby) will be filling in temporarily as Bombalurina on Broadway while Marlene Daniel (current Broadway Bombalurina) takes some time off due to an injury.

12/09/99--Micheal Gruber's (video Munkustrap) new Broadway musical Swing! opened today. An original cast recording has been made and should be released any day now.

12/03/99--Jacob Brent's (video Mistoffelees) last day as Mistoffelees on Broadway will be December 19. He will be replaced by the current U.S. tour Mistoffelees--Julius Sermonia. (Thank you to Kat for this information)

12/01/99--The CATS IV tour will be closing this month. Their last show is December 19 in East Lansing, Michigan. (Thank you to Brian for this information)

11/12/99--Jacob Brent (video Mistoffelees) will be leaving his role as Mistoffelees on Broadway sometime in December.

11/07/99--Christine Langer (original Broadway Etcetera/Rumpelteazer) was one of the dancers in the Disney remake of Annie. It aired Sunday, November 7, 1999 on ABC.

10/11/99--Michael Gruber (Video Munkustrap) begins previews for the broadway musical Swing! on November 2. His last day as Munkustrap was September 12.

10/10/99--Rosemarie Ford (Video Bombalurina) and her husband, Robert Lindsay, are expecting their first child at the end of November. Congrats!!

10/01/99--Many members of the New London Theatre company of Cats, including Veerle Casteleyn (Video Jemima), are leaving the production. Their last performance is Oct. 23.

09/30/99--Anna McNeely (original Broadway Jennyanydots) is currently performing as
Madame de la Grande Bouche in Disney's Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast.
