Welcome to Rutherford High School Air Force Junior ROTC and FL-034. The unit was activated in the fall of 1968 and we are proud of the fact that we have been selected as and Air Force Honor Unit every year since 1989. The Unit motto has been “Integrity, Honor, Excellence” and has been used in all endeavors. This year with the arrival of a new instructor staff we would like to build on the unit motto to include a commitment to the ‘Good of the Team/Unit, not the benefit of the individual” I feel that this attitude of ‘Service before self” will move our unit up to the next level.
Our Cadet Corps is organized as a Cadet Group of approximately 150 cadets and the Cadet run the Day-to-Day operation with oversight from the Instructors. Every activity is geared towards being a leadership exercise. As we start the 21st century, the new team of SMSgt Gil Garcia, MSgt Larry Sharp and I are committed to our mission which is “To educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline as e provide instruction in leadership and air and space fundamentals”.
