While a fair portion of the information within this website is from personal experience, I would like to cite several invaluable resources, most of which can be easily acquired from your local bookseller or the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Bureau of Endangered Resources.  However, Vogt's "The Natural History of Amphibians and Reptiles in Wisconsin" is out of print (and has been for many years).  It is unfortunate, because this book is the definitive work on herptile natural history within the Wisconsin (and perhaps even the Upper Midwest).  Now, however, if you wish to read this wonderful piece of scientific literature, you'll have to visit a library.
