2/21/01On Feburary 17, 2001 the halfpipe competition took place for the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding at Snow Summit, CA. There was some crazy stuff goin down. Heres the results:
Mens Halfpipe
  1. Ross Powers
  2. Shaun White
  3. Gian Simmen
  4. Therry Brunner
  5. Xavier Hoffman
  6. Danny Costandache
  7. JJ Thomas
  8. Daniel Kass
  9. Chris Nelson
  10. Justin Lamoureux
Ross Powers stepped it up on his last run to take the golden medal away from little big man Shaun White, who stomped a McTwist to backside rodeo to frontside 900, and then a frontside alley oop rodeo on his second run. Gian Simmen also had a sweet last run to almost take the gold away from Powers, but fell just short.

Womens Halfpipe
  1. Natasza Zurek
  2. Stine Brun Kjeldaas
  3. Kim Stacey
  4. Barrett Christy
  5. Fabienne Reuteler
  6. Michele Taggart
Nataza Zurek did a McTwist to crippler to a bs 540 for the win. Kim Stacey went huge for 3rd.

Mens Big Air
  1. Jim Rippey
  2. Stephen Duke
  3. David Scaffidi
  4. Myles Hallen
  5. Kyle Clancy
  6. JJ. Thomas
  7. Martin Cernik
  8. Scott Arnold
  9. Tom Flocco
  10. Steven Simmons
Jim Rippey pulled off a switch backside 900 for first, followed by Stephen Duke who did a solid Cab 900.

Womens Big Air
  1. Tara Dakides
  2. Emily Thomas
  3. Dresden Howell
  4. Katrina Voutilainen
  5. Lindsay Pugh
Tara Dakides threw down one of her patented inverted flips with a perfect landing to take the gold medal for the ladies.
