On 4 August 2008, a group of Bangladesh army personnel led by Capt. Tanvir demanded few chickens from Buddhist villagers Mr. Tonchongya of Belaichari. When Mr. Tonchongya refused the Muslim soldiers of Bangladesh army blind folded him and tortured him resulting in the fracture of his right leg. Thereafter Tanvir forced the local village chief Anil Chandra Tonchongya and Doctor Priya Dorshi to sign a statement stating that Mr. Tonnyapu Tonchongya got his leg fractured while running away from the army.

Bangladesh army raid and torture indigenous Chakma people of Jagarapara village in Panchari
On 8 November 2004, a group of Bangladesh army men numbering about 100 raided Jagapara village in Panchari of Khagrachari district. They searched and ransacked houses, and beat up 14 innocent villagers. The army men also looted away valuables including a number of valuable books and documents from the house of Anil Chandra Chakma. Assistant zone commander Modasser Ali, Major Ziad, Captain Taslim and Lieutenant Salauddin from Panchari Zone led the attack, which took pace at 5 0' clock in the morning. The village is situated about 8 kilometer northeast of Panchari town, near Indian border. The victims of army torture are identified as-
