Border Guard Bangladesh harass 2 indigenous Buddhist men in Kaptai

On 31 March 2017, the Border Guard Bangladesh personnel surrounded the house of Ranjit Tanchangya in Kaptai, Rangamati district. Mr. Tanchangya is land and agriculture affairs secretary of Raikhali Union Committee of PCJSS and member of No. 7 Ward of Raikhali Union Parishad. BGB broke the wardrobe lock, conducted a thorough search and ransacked the household articles. Apart from this, the BGB personnel also surrounded the house of Samiran Tanchangya, a member of Kaptai Thana Committee of PCJSS.

It is worthy to be mentioned that in recent times Bangladesh army and BGB have been conducting unwarranted search anywhere and anytime, fabricating legal cases against the indigenous people, arbitrary arrest, detention without trial, meting out brutal torture, harassment, etc.
