Bengali settlers attempt to rape and beat an indigenous Buddhist girl in Matiranga

On 20 February 2017, 2 Muslim settlers attempted to rape an indigenous Marma Buddhist girl at Tabalchari in Matiranga, Khagrachari district.

On the day of incident, the indigenous Buddhist girl of Thailapara village was returning home with her friend after attending an exam at Kadamtali High School. But on the way some Muslim settlers named Mohammad Anwar (22) and Mohammad Imran (22) from Dak Banglow area under Tabalchari stopped the victim and tried to rape her. But the victim managed to escape to her friend's house. The Muslim settlers beat the victim by entering into her friend's house and ran away.
