On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Rita Chakma (13) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. Bangladesh army stripped all the women and the girls who were in their houses, and gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Marma girl in Bandarban

On 13 January 2017, 2 Muslim settlers raped an indigenous Marma girl in Bandarban. 2 Muslim settlers were identified as Mizanur Rahman (23) and Saiful Islam (24) of Chaikkhong of Alikodam Upazilla. The victim has been undergoing treatment at Bandarban General Hospital.

According to the allegation of victim family, Mizanur raped the girl at night when she went out of her school hostel to respond to nature's call. They also informed that, the culprit Mizanur took the girl to the bushes nearby and raped her. Saiful captured video the whole thing on a mobile phone. They also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

Mizanur even tried to force her into keeping a physical relationship with him as he said he would otherwise circulate the video footage on the internet. Victim’s elder brother filed a case at Alikodam police station against them on the following day in this connection. The Police have arrested the duo on that night.
