Indigenous victims of Sajek Muslim attack
On 20 April 2008 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked and burnt down 76 indigenous Buddhist houses in Sajek. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhist villagers and grab their land. The indigenous Chakma Buddhists and their burnt down houses after the attack.

Bengali settlers attack indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mahalchari

On 16 October 2015, Muslim settlers attacked an indigenous Chakma Buddhist at Maischari in Mahalchari, Khagrachari district.

A group of Muslim settlers carried out the attack at 10 am when Sneha Kumar Chakma and other indigenous Chakma villagers were cutting down trees in his own grove at Pagojyachari Bhitor Para (also known as South Joysenpara). The attack left Basanta Chakma (30) son of Noaram Chakma seriously wounded. He was admitted at Mahalchari Health Complex with head injuries.

Muslim settlers from Joysenpara also beat up 2 other indigenous men Ajit Chakma son of Gopal Krishna Chakma and Prem Ranjan Chakma son of Rajani Kumar Chakma.

Some of the Muslim settlers have been identified as-

  1. Mohammad Salam son of Mohammad Sohrab
  2. Mohammad Enamul son of Mohammad Salam
  3. Mohammad Jahangir Alam son of Mujibul Haq
  4. Mohammad Alamgir son of Mujibul Haq
  5. Mohammad Zahedul Alam son of Mujibul Haq
