On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man gunned down by the Bangladesh army.

Bengali settlers attack an indigenous Tripuri man in Matiranga

On 12 August 2015 at 9 pm, a Muslim settler stabbed an indigenous Tripuri man Mr. Koydong Tripura (25) son of late Shanti Dayal Tripura in Matiranga, Khagrachari district.

The victim is from Takar Moni Para village in Gomati, Matiranga. He was returning home from Gomati bazaar. As soon as he reached Kabarstan Tila (graveyard hill) not far from the bazaar, Mohammad Rabiul (15) son of Abdur Rashid from Bandarchara village stabbed him from behind. He was seriously injured in the attack.
