On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Krajaima Marma (20) daughter of Chaihla Prue Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Benglai settlers gang rape an indigenous Buddhist woman in Kaptai

On 3 May 2015, Muslim settlers gang raped a 35 year old indigenous Buddhist woman and physically abused another in Kaptai, Rangamati district.

The victims were on their way to Kaptai from Chitmorong when the attack took place. As soon or the autorickshaw carrying them reached near Banophul Rest House at Bengchari at 9 pm, Muslim settlers stopped them. Muslim settlers pulled them out and forced them to a nearby stream and took turns in raping one of the women.

Muslim settlers attempted to rape the other woman. But when the failed, they physically abused her.

The victims filed a case with Kaptai Police Station on the same night. The Muslim settlers were identified as:

  1. Hasan (34)
  2. Abul Kalam (45)
  3. Khokan (28)
  4. Babul (27)
  5. Manik (39)

Ther raped victim is a resident of Tarachari village in Belaichari and the other victim hails from Notun Bazar in Kaptai.
