Bangladesh army blocks indigenous people during Dighinala protest
On 15 March 2015, Bangladeshi security forces attacked indigenous peple in Dighinala. Indigenous people were demostrating against construction of BGB headquarter at Babuchara in Dighinala. At least 8 indigenous people were injured in the attack.

Bangladesh police arrest 11 indigenous people in Dighinala

On 15 March 2015, Bangladesh police arrest 11 indigenous people including a female college student over demonstration against establishment of BGB headquarter at Babuchara in Dighinala.

Dighinala police filed case alleging that eight army personnel had been injured when the indigenous people, being obstructed, pelted bricks at them. They were arrested during drives by the law enforcers in different areas. A Khagrachhari court sent them to jail when the police produced them before it yesterday morning.

Army’s Dighinala Zone Adjutant Captain Towhidul Islam earlier said 8 army personnel sustained injuries in a clash that had taken place around 12:30pm in Karbari Para area on 15 March 2015. He however could not give identities of the injured, who were released after primary treatment.

No case has been filed over the torture of two indigenous people – grade X student Subikash Chakma and Tridib Chakma – by the army personnel. Six other hill people including Shushil Bikash Chakma, Rabi Ranjan Chakma and Lalon Chakma were also injured.
