Border Guard Bangladesh attempt to rape 2 Tripura women in Sajek

On 3 November 2014, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) attempted to rape 2 Tripura women in Sajek Union of Baghaichari. On that day the women went for bath to a nearby stream. However, hearing the screaming of victims, villagers came forward to them and BGB soldiers fled to the camp.

On that day at around 12.30 pm 5 Tripura women of Siyaladai village went to a stream to take bath. After taking bath 2 women (one is 23 year and another is 25 year old) among the 5 were returning home. 2 soldiers of Siyaladai BGB camp came forward and grasped them. The soldiers touched sensitive parts of their bodies and attempted to rape. When the women started screaming, indigenous residents of the villages rushed there. Seeing the presence of the villagers, BGB personnel fled inside into the camp.

Immediately villagers objected to the commander Subedar Nasir. However Subedar Nisar did not take any action and termed it as ‘minor issue’. One of the accused was identified as Rafiul, other could not be identified.
