Chakma mother and victim of Teknaf
On 30 May 2012 Bangladesh police and Muslim settlers raided indigenous Buddhist villages of Howaikyong area under Teknaf in Cox’s Bazaar. In this attack 12 Chakma villagers were severely wounded. 7 Chakma villagers including 4 minors were arrested without warrant. One pregnant woman prematurely gave birth to a baby due to torture and several women were sexually harassed.

Bangladesh army tortures indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Thanchi

On 17 February 1996, BDR (Bangladesh Rifles) personnel from Bara Modhuk Camp attacked Prafulla Karbari Cluster village near Bali Bazaar under the jurisdiction of Thanchi within Bandarban District, rounded up the indigenous Buddhist villagers and severely beat up 9 of them without any reasons. The victims were

  5. Mr. Manikya Chakma (35)

  7. Mr. Chikanya Chakma (35)
  8. Mr. Bishnu Deb Chakma (40)
  9. Mr. Hangsa Chakma.
