Shantibala Chakma of Mallya Massace
On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers killed at least 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Shantibala Chakma, the wife of Mr. Saral Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the ferry. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.

Bangladesh army backed collaborators demonstrate against indigenous people in Dhaka

On 17 January 1996, the PPSPC (Pahari Chatra Parishad ebang Pahari Gana Parishad-er Santras Pratirodh Committee) collaborators staged a demonstration in Dhaka against the indigenous Autonomy Movement. They carried anti JSS, HSC and HPC placards, shouted anti indigenous slogans and demanded high handed suppression of JSS, HSC and HPC. They submitted memoranda to Bequm Khaleda Zia, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and Mrs. Sheikh Hasina Wazed, the leader of opposition Awami League. Needless to say, the Bangladesh Army funded the demonstration and the state controlled electronic and print media gave wide coverage to it.
