Bangladesh army detain and torture a 10 year old indigenous Buddhist boy in Kaokhali

On 18 November 1995, Bangladesh army of Khiram Army Camp of Ghagra Military Zone led by Leut. Sarowar patrolled an area some 4 or 5 kms away from the camp.

At that time, a boy named Bideshi Chakma (10), the son of Mr. Japani Chakma of Gangatyatali village of Kaokhali was going along with a relative to the home of another relative. Although he was innocent, Bangladesh army detained him without any reason. Bangladesh army tied his hands behind his back, took him to the camp where he was beaten and tortured by forcing water through his nose in order to get information about the Shanti Bahini. Bangladesh army terrorists also tried to arrest the boy's companion, who fortunately managed to run away.

Bangladesh army can arbitrarily detain, interrogate and torture any indigenous person in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army requires no warrant, suspicion is enough to harass the indigenous people. Bangladesh army is driving out indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Christian tribes from Chittagong Hill Tracts and settling Muslim settlers in their villages. Their aim is to Islamize Chittagong Hill Tracts by terror.
