Bangladesh army harass indigenous Chakma Buddhists in MarachengiOn 21 October 1995 at 8 p.m. Bangladesh army raided the home of Mr. Peda Chakma (35), the son of Mr. Surjya Mohan Chakma, of Bara Tarung Mouza in Marachengi, Khagrachari to interrogate him. At that time he was away. Having failed to find him, Bangladesh army terrorists harassed his family members and ransacked his home. Bangladesh army can arbitrarily detain, interrogate and torture any indigenous person in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army requires no warrant, suspicion is enough to harass the indigenous people. Bangladesh army is driving out indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Christian tribes from Chittagong Hill Tracts and settling Muslim settlers in their villages.
