On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land.

Bangladesh army rob and burn indigenous Chakma houses in Naniachar

On 2 Feb 1995, Bangladesh army of Naniachar Military Zone led by Lt. Hanif carried out 4 days long combing operation in the areas of Larmapara, Jorbua Mahajanpara and Tibirachari villages under Naniachar, Rangamati. Bangladesh army robbed and burned indigenous Chakma homes. Some of the indigenous Chakma victims were:

  1. Mr. Penda Chakma (33), son of Mr. Chemba Chakma of Jorbua Mohajanpara village. He was robbed of his 6 fowls, 4 kg of dried chillies, lOO kg of rice and so forth. Bangladesh army set his house on fire
  2. Mr. Dhenga Chakma (27), son of Mr. Bharaddas Moni Chakma of the above address. He was robbed of all his property and his house was burnt down
  3. Mr. Banga Chakma (26), son of Mr. Chandra Kumar Chakma of the above address. He was subjected to similar fate as above
  4. Mr. Chandrajit Chakma (25) son of Mr. Sundar Mohan Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  5. Mr. Bangallya Chakma (35), son of Mr. Urang Kana Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  6. Mr. Ana Chakma (34), son of Sundar Mohan Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  7. Mr. Birendra Chakma (50), son of Mr. Guna Dhar Chakma of Tibirachari village. He had similar fate as above
  8. Mr. Palindra Chakma (50), son of Mr. Jatra Mohan Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  9. Mr. Gattua Chakma (30), son of Mr. Brata Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  10. Mr. Lalit Kumar Chakma (36), son of Mr. Shakkonnya Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  11. Mr. Suresh Mohan Chakma (27), son of Mr. Bishwa Chandra Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  12. Mr. Supekka Chakma (32), son of Mr. Tanga Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
  13. Mr. Lal Mohan Chakma (58), son of Mr. Kirishya Chakma of the above address. He had similar fate as above
