Bangladesh army carry out massive military operation in Naniachar, Rangamati ad Laxmichari

On 25 NOV 1994 at night, a member of Bangladesh Village Defence Party (VDP) accidentally fired his rifle while on duty at a Muslim settlement. In order to cover up this fault, the VDP members opened fire at random and scattered the empty cartridges here and there with a view to fabricating that they fought a good fight against the Shanti Bahini.

Bangladesh army made an inquiry into the incident and found out the actual fact. Instead of punishing the VDP members for lying, they seized this fabricated incident as a pretext for flushing out the Shanti Bahini from many areas.

Bangladesh army carried out military campaign for 4 days from 26 Nov to 29 Nov l994 in several Military Zones.
