Mr. Simul Chakma and Mr. Dhiman Chakma

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Baghaichari

On 4 September 1993, Bangladesh army of 46 EBR from Kojoichari army camp and Chintaram Chara Army camp in Marishya Zone led by Capt. Ziad and Leut. Hazari waited in ambush for Shanti Bahini just outside the villages of Dhirendra Lal Karbari Para and Sijak Chara in Baghaichari, Rangamati district.

Bangladesh army waited in ambush for whole night from 8 p.m, but Shanti Bahini never came. Next morning Bangladesh army entered the villages, searched the houses, interrogated the villagers and subjected them to harassment and torture. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Abatar Chakma (30), son of late Kista Lal Chakma of Dhirendra Lal Karbari Para, Baghaichari
  2. Mr. Subhash Chandra Chakma (50), son of late Jagat Chandra Chakma
  3. Mr. Juddha Ram Chakma (56), son of late Juba Mani Chakma
  4. Mr. Nila Ranjan Chakma (45), son of late Sree Batsa Chakma
  5. Mr. Milan Chandra Chakma (62), son of late Akhshoy Mani Chakma
  6. Mr. Ajit Kumar Chakma (28), son of late Dhirendra Lal Chahma
  7. Mr. Priti Moy Chakma (35), son of late Dhirendra Lal Chakma of the sane address and so on.
