On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Bangladesh police fight indigenous people whose land was grabbed by Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Rangamati

On 29 April 1993, Bangladesh army numbering 12 soldiers from Rangapanya army camp led by Capt. Nurul Alam and Nayek Subedar Shahat Hossain launched a military operation at Amchari in Rangamati sub-district.

During the operation Bangladesh army inhumanly beat indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Samoy Ratan Chakma, son of Mr. Indra Joy Chakma of Amchari, Rangamati sub-district.
  2. Mr. Juddha Kumar Chakna, son of Mr. Samoy Ratan Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mr. Sumati Chakma, son of Mr. Lajanya Chakma, address as above.
  4. Mr. Dhanya Chakma, son of Mr. Foreya Chakma, address as above.
  5. Mr. Rabi Kumar Chakma, son of Mr. Parashu Ram Chakma, address as above.
