On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. One of the Buddhist temples burnt down by the settlers.

On 1 July 1991, in reprisal to the Shanti Bahini attack of 29 June 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 EBR from Ghilachari army camp, Bagachari army camp and Chowdhury Para army camp led by Major Ahsanul Haq Mia and Capt. Feroze patrolled Ramhari Para in Naniachar, Rangamati district.

After patrolling the area, Bangladesh army assembled and camped at the ground of Ramhari Para Bouddha Vihar. They slaughtered fowls and cooked there. They entered the Buddhist temple with their boots. They interrogated the monk about the the Shanti Bahini and abused him with filthy language.

Next day on their way to their camps, they collected fowls and goats from the villagers without paying. The villagers vacated their village out of fear of reprisal.
