On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. An indigenous woman in front of her burnt house.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous people in Barkal

On 27-28 June 1991, Bangladesh army of 7th EBR from Subalong Bazar army camp led by Capt. Nazmul launched a military operation against the indigenous people at Bhurbanya in Barkal, Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army burnt down 4 houses and arrested 2 indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Jagat Mohan Chakma (45), son of Mr. Badalya Chakma.
  2. Mr. Anupam Chakma (18), son of Mr. Madhumangal Chakma.
  3. Mr. Kailash Chandra Chakma (45), son of Mr. Lal Mohan Chakma.
  4. Mr. Ramani Mohan Chakma (60), son of Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma.
  5. Mr. Phulchoga Chakma (55), son of Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma.
  6. Mr. Matilal Chakma (50), son of Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma.
