Longadu people fleeing Muslim settler attack

On 2 June 2017, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 4 indigenous Buddhist villages in Longadu. Muslim settlers murdered an indigenous Buddhist women and burnt down more than 250 indigenous Buddhist houses.


Bangladesh army arrest and torture indigenous people in Khagrachari and Rangamati

On 23 May 1991, Bangladesh army of 25th EBR from Betchari Jaduram Para army camp arrested 2 indigenous people from their home at Rangapani Chara in Khagrachari sub-district. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Amrita Lal Chakma (40), son of late Urojoy Chakma.
  2. Mr. Nayan Jyoti Chakma (3), son of Mr. Angada Ranjan Chakma.

On 29 May 1991, Bangladesh army of 17th EBR from Kudukchari army camp arrested 1 indigenous man from his home at Bhuiyo Adam of Hazachari Mouza in Rangamati sub-district.

Bangladesh army took him to the army camp and severely tortured him. Later, Bangladesh army transferred him to Rangamati Brigade Head Quarter and kept in under detention. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Nagarchan Chakma (32), son of Mr. Sama Chandra Chakma.
