Longadu people fleeing Muslim settler attack

On 2 June 2017, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 4 indigenous Buddhist villages in Longadu. Muslim settlers murdered an indigenous Buddhist women and burnt down more than 250 indigenous Buddhist houses.


Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Dighinala and Laxmichari

On 27-28 April 1991, Bangladesh army from Babuchara army camp arrested 8 indigenous people at Babuchara in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army took them to army camp and tortured them during interrogation. 2 of the victims are:

  1. Mr. Dabanya Chakma (33), son of Mr. Ananta Singh Chakma.
  2. Mr. Kala Chakma (55).

On 28 April 1991, Bangladesh army of 2nd EBR from Dulyatoli army camp arrested 2 indigenous people in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army took them to army camp and tortured them during interrogation. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Bindu Kumar Chakma (31), son of Mr. Hengotya Chakma of Nabhanga, Laxmichari.
  2. Mr. Man Kumar Chakma (30), son of late Lamba Shira Chakma of Hazachari, Laxmichari.
