On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

On 1 April 1991, Bangladesh army from different army camps launched a military operation at Kattali and Kharikhata in Longadu, Rangamati district following the killing of a Muslim settler in the early morning of the same day.

In fear of Bangladesh army, about 1000 indigenous people took refuge in the jungles to escape reprisal attack.

Bangladesh army surrounded the said villages, searched many houses and took away some household good.

On 3 April 1991, Muslim settlers chased and attempted to kill 3 indigenous persons while they were returning home from Kattoli Bazar by boat in Longadu, Rangamati district.

Fortunately they were able to narrowly escape. They were inhabitants of Kattoli Madya Adam, Longadu.
