On 14 December 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Baghaichari and Dighinala following the death of a settler named Mohamed Sattar. An indigenous woman named Chikon Mila Chakma was killed in Dighinala and at least 10 indigenous people were injured. Mr. Ronik Chakma was one of the indigenous victims.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Naniachar

On 31 March 1991, Bangladesh army launched a military operation against the indigenous people at Shilash Chari village in Naniachar, Rangamati district.

During the operation, Bangladesh army tortured and robbed people and ransacked indigenous houses. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Kala Dhan Chakma (35), son of Mr. Dharma Mohan Chakma, North Shilash Chari, Naniachar, Rangamati.
  2. Mr. Bhola Dhan Chakma (30), son of Mr. Dharma Mohan Chakma.
  3. Mr. Ranjan Bikash Chakma(25), son of Mr. Dharma Mohan Chakma.
  4. Mr. Jhudha Dhan Chakma (22), son of Mr. Dharma Mohan Chakma.
  5. Mr. Jhudha Chakma (17), son of Mr. Ishar Chandra Chakma.
