On August 10, 2014 Bangladesh army tortured and murdered Timir Baran Chakma (52) in custody in Matiranga, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army murdered him in Washu Rubber Plantation in Indramuni Para, Matiranga Upazila, Khagrachari Hill District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. Bangladesh army fabricated an illegal firearms ownership case against Timir Baran Chakma and tortured him to death. Bangladesh army did not return his body to his family for last religious rite, instead Bangladesh army secretly cremated his body to conceal the murder.
Bangladesh army tortures indigenous people in Matiranga
On 9 May 1990, Bangladesh army from Pukurpara Army Camp led by Havildar (Sergeant) Kasim subjected many indigenous people in Matiranga, Khagrachari District to severe beating for their refusal to move to Guccha Grams (cluster villages). So called Guccha Grams are nothing but concentration camps for indigenous people. Bangladesh government moves indigenous people to cluster villages against their will in order to distribute their ancestral villages and farmlands to Muslim settlers.

Mr. Astidhan Tripura (55), son of Mr. Jayanta Tripura of Chatipara village
Mr. Pathoi Singh Tripura (24), son of Mr. Astidhan Tripura of Chatipara village
Mr. Kamal Singh Tripura (38), of Maischari Mouza in Mahalchari and so on
