Chakma Children of Mahalchari
On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Indigenous Chakma children took refuge at Balipara Primary School after their villages were burnt down by the Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army arrest 2 indigenous children in Matiranga

On 11 March 1990, Major Kazi Kaiser of the 34 East Bengal Regiment of the Bangladesh Army from the Nakya Para Army Camp arrested 2 boys as the children of the members of the Shanti Bahini. They are still being kept at the Army Camp. The Children are:

  1. Master Ananta Prasad Tripura (12), the son of Mr. Gopinath Tripura of the Toikatangpara village in No. 205 Toikatang Mouza in Matiranga
  2. Master Satyanarayan Tripura (9), the son of Mr. Gopinath Tripura as above
