Mr. Simul Chakma and Mr. Dhiman Chakma

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Manikchari

On 28 Oct. 1989, Bangladesh army personnel from the army camp at Moghaichari launched a military operation against the indigenous inhabitants of Choto Kalapani in Manikchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation, Bangladesh army set indigenous houses on fire and destroyed crops and fruit trees. The victims are

  1. Mr. Merakazi Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Mr. Udamani Chakma, of Choto Kalapani, Manikchari. BD Army set his house on fire and destroyed properties worth Taka 20,000.00.
  2. Mr. Leda Chakma, 32 yrs, son of Mr. Udamani Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 12,000.00.
  3. Mr. Basu Chakma, 33 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 14,000.00.
  4. Mr. Rajmohan Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Mr. Paratya Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 7,000.00.
  5. Mr. Dhanya Sen Chakma, 45 yrs, son of Mr. Peda Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 10,000.00.
  6. Mr. Jarbua Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Mr. Nanda Chakma, address as above. The house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 8,000.00.
  7. Mr. Birasen Chakma, 27 yrs, son of Mr. Nanda Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 5,000.00.
  8. Mr. Rabindra Chakma, 24 yrs, son of Mr. Nanda Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 4,000.00.
  9. Mr. Bini Mohan Chakma, 45 yrs, son of Mr. Janyaram Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 11,000.00.
  10. Mr. Erekazi Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Mr. Manudas Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 7,000.00.
  11. Mr. Ranga Mohan Chakma, 45 yrs, son of Mr. Manudas Chakma, address as above. The house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 18,000.00.
  12. Mr. Suroj Chakma, 25 yrs, son of Mr. Bharatya Chakma, address as above. The house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 12,000.00.
  13. Mr. Hanumanya Chakma, 41 yrs, son of Mr. Harbua Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 17,000.00.
  14. Mr. Bali Chakma, 36 yrs, son of Mr. Harbua Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 8,000.00.
  15. Mr. Chandi Chakma, 55 yrs, son of Mr. Manudas Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 25,000.00.
  16. Mr. Jatna Kumar Chakma, 24 yrs, son of Mr. Chandi Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 9,000.00.
  17. Mr. Ganga Chakma, 65 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 7,000.00.
  18. Mr. Chintamuni Chakma, 65 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 12,000.00.
  19. Mr. Samujya Chakma, 23 yrs, son of Mr. Taru Mohan Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 5,000.00.
  20. Mr. Gajendra Chakma, 19 yrs, son of Mr. Erengkazi Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 7,000.00.
  21. Mr. Putwali Chakma, 30 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 12,000.00.
  22. Mr. Fakira Chakma, 50 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 9,000.00.
  23. Mr. Brisha Kumar Chakma, 51 yrs, son of Mr. Leipeda Chakma, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 25,000.00.
  24. Mr. Saratya Chakma, 26 yrs, address as above. His house was set on fire with properties worth Taka 15,000.00.
