On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man gunned down by the Bangladesh army.

Bangladesh army murders, rapes and tortures indigenous Buddhist people in Ramgarh

On 19 July 1989, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from Bodongpara Camp led by Major Rafique killed an indigenous Buddhist man, gang raped 2 indigenous Buddhist women and severely beat an indigenous Buddhist girl in Ramgarh, Khagrachari district. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Maung Kue Marma, 60 yrs, son of Mr. Khoiyong Marma, of Danglong Para, Barthali, Ramgarh. He was on the way to Dewanpara when the army personnel shot him dead.
  2. Miss Aboi Marma, 16 yrs, daughter of Mr. Maung Kue Marma, address as above.
  3. Mrs. Patpadima Chakma, 33 yrs, wife of Mr. Nilarath Chakma of Kumajya Para, Guimara, Ramgarh. Bangladesh army gang raped her.
  4. Miss Chandra Bala Chakma, 11 yrs, daughter of Mr. Nilarath Chakma, address as above. She was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  5. Mr. Parandhan Khisa, 49 yrs, son of Mr. Champa Khisa. BD Army robbed Tk. 3000.00 from him and set his house on fire.
  6. Mr. Nayandhan Khisa, 40 yrs, son of Mr. Champa Khisa, of Surendra Karbari Para, Khagrachari. BD Army robbed gold jewelery worth Taka 10,000.00 and cash amount of Tk. 1,500.00 from him. BD Army set his house on fire.
  7. Mr. Zurandhan Khisa, 43 yrs, son of Mr. Champa Khisa, address as above. BD Army robbed Tk. 1700.00 from him and set his house on fire.
