Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati
On 27 May 1989, Bangladesh army personnel from Kuduk Chari Camp carried out a military operation
against the indigenous Buddhist inhabitants of Choto Dulu in Rangamati subdistrict in reprisal to heavy casualty the army suffered in an armed encounter with the Shanti Bahini on 25 May 1989.
During the military operation, Bangladesh army beat and tortured innocent indigenous inhabitants and destroyed their house hold properties. The victims are:
Mr. Kalachan Chakma, 67 yrs, son of Mr. Mogya Chakma of Choto Dulu. He was severely beaten and all his house hold properties were destroyed by the army personnel.
