In May 1986, Bangladesh army personnel gang raped Mrs. Subodhini Tripura (25) wife of Mr. Tripura of Rambabu Dheba, Matiranga and then attacked her with knife. She took refuge at Tripura state of India with her family. This photo was taken at refugee camp in Tripura, India.

Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati

On 27 May 1989, Bangladesh army personnel from Kuduk Chari Camp carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist inhabitants of Choto Dulu in Rangamati subdistrict in reprisal to heavy casualty the army suffered in an armed encounter with the Shanti Bahini on 25 May 1989.

During the military operation, Bangladesh army beat and tortured innocent indigenous inhabitants and destroyed their house hold properties. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Kalachan Chakma, 67 yrs, son of Mr. Mogya Chakma of Choto Dulu. He was severely beaten and all his house hold properties were destroyed by the army personnel.
  2. Mr. Kali Kinkar Chakma, 48 yrs, son of Mr. Baidya Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mr. Badu Mani Chakma, 70 yrs, son of late Roma Gukya Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten and all his house hold properties were destroyed by the army personnel.
  4. Mr. Bhagya Dhan Chakma, 46 yrs, son of Mr. Kandujya Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten and all his house hold properties were destroyed by the army personnel.
