On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Thuimrajai Marma (16) daughter of Mamong Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Bangladesh army torture and rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 19 March 1989, Bangladesh army personnel from Naniachar Camp carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist village Sapmara in Naniachar, Rangamati district.

During the operation Bangladesh army tortured indigenous Buddhist men and raped indigenous Buddhist women. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Niyati Ranjan Chakma, 40 yrs, son of Mr. Karma Mohan Chakma of Sapmara, Naniachar.
  2. Mr. Prasanna Kumar Chakma, 48 yrs, son of Mr. Suresh Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mrs. Badimila Chakma, 20 yrs, wife of Mr. Shanti Jiban Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army gang raped her.
