On 14 December 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Baghaichari and Dighinala following the death of a settler named Mohamed Sattar. An indigenous woman named Chikon Mila Chakma was killed in Dighinala and at least 10 indigenous people were injured. Mr. Ronik Chakma was one of the indigenous victims.

Bangladesh army tortures 3 indigenous Tripura Hindus in Khagrachari

On 11 Jan. 1989, Capt. Aleem of 31 EBR Bangladesh army from Kukichara Army Camp in Khagrachari ordered 3 indigenous persons to report at the army camp. Accordingly they reported and the Captain accused them of having contacts with the Shanti Bahini and giving food to them. The innocent persons were subjected to inhuman physical torture. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Rajendra Lal Tripura (65), son of Late Purba Dhan Tripura of No. 4 Joutha Khamar, Khagrachari.
  2. Mr. Chandra Bikash Roaza (45), son of Late Kumar Dhan Roaza of No. 4 Joutha Khamar, Khagrachari.
  3. Mr. Amarendra Lal Roaza (55), a member of Union Parishad, son of Late Kumar Dhan Roaza of No. 4
  4. Joutha Khamar, Khagrachari.
