Chanchala Chakma victim of Bangladesh Police firing
On 30 June 2013 Bangladesh police opened fire on indigenous Buddhist people in south Khabongpujya area of Khagrachari district. An indigenous Buddhist woman identified as Chanchala Chakma (50) was seriously injured by the rubber bullets.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Baghaichari

On 19 Dec. 1988, Bangladesh army of 14 EBR from Mainee Mukh Zone led by Lt. Col. Moinuddin severely beat 2 innocent indigenous persons at Mautang in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. Their only fault was that they did not greet the army officer in Islamic terms Assalam-O-Alaikum. The victim being Buddhists pleaded that they did not know how to greet in Islamic terms. The army officer angrily abused them. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Bajjya Chakma of Mautang, Sarbuatali Mouza, Baghaichari.
  2. Mr. Biraj Chandra Chakma, address as above.
