On 5 Dec. 1988, Bangladesh army of 14 EBR from the army camp at Kala Pagajya, Baghaichari led by Capt. Harun along with Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist village South Pablakhali in Baghaichari, Rangamati district.

Bangladesh army attacked the indigenous village at such a time when all male inhabitants went to Durchari Bazar to shop their daily essentials. The army captain let loose his soldiers and the Muslim settlers to carry out robbery of the indigenous properties.
