On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Khagrachari

On 31 August 1988, Bangladesh army from Kukichara Camp, Khagrachari led by Capt Aleem raided indigenous Buddhist village Jubaraj Karbari Para in Perachara, Khagrachari.

Bangladesh army encircled the whole village and ordered the inhabitants to come out of their homes. Bangladesh army carried out house to house search. Later all the inhabitants were gathered at an open place for interrogation. During interrogation, the inhabitants were beaten up.

Bangladesh army shoved burning cigarette on victims' bodies and poured water through their mouths and nostrils. The soldiers threatened the inhabitants with dire consequences if they do not give informations about the Shanti Bahini.
