Mr. Paritosh Chakma and Mr. Arun Kanti Chakma

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Barkal

On 3 June 1988, Bangladesh army from the Zonal Head Quarter at Subalang, Barkal led by Lt. Shafiq arrested 5 indigenous persons who were taken to the Panchari Primary School in Barkal, Rangamati district. At the primary school, Bangladesh army severely beat and torture 5 indigenous victims. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Leelamay Karbari, son of Mr. Juranya Karbari of Dighal Chari, Baruna Chari Mouza, Barkal.
  2. Mr. Nila Mohan Chakma, son of Mr. Sashi Mohan Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mr. Daya Nanda Chakma, son of Mr. Nila Mohan Chakma, address as above.
  4. Mr. Subhashish Chakma, son of Mr. Indra Mohan Chakma, address as above.
  5. Mr. Ranjan Chakma, son of Mr. Ananda Kumar Chakma of Barkalak, Barkattali Mouza, Barkal.
