On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

On 6 April 1988, Bangladesh army from Rangi Para camp, arrested 2 indigenous people in collusion with Muslim settlers in Longadu, Rangamati district.

Bangladesh army took 2 indigenous men to the army camp at Mainee Mukh for interrogation and torture. Then they were sent to DGFI (Directorate General of Forces Intelligence) unit at Rangamati for further interrogation.

DGFI charged 2 indigenous men as being Shanti Bahini associates. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Ratan Alo Khisa (26), son of Mr. Bankim Chandra Khisa, of Rangi Para, Longadu.
  2. Mr. Sunil Kanti Dewan (28), address as above.
