Bangladesh army attack indigenous people
On 15 March 2015, Bangladeshi security forces attacked indigenous peple in Dighinala. Indigenous people were demostrating against construction of BGB headquarter at Babuchara in Dighinala. At least 8 indigenous people were injured in the attack.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Dighinala

On 06 Apr. 1988, Bangladesh army of 20 East Bengal Regiment from the army camp at Babu Chara led by Major Mahfuj tortured indigenous people at Babu Chara in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army subjected the indigenous persons to severe beating and physical torture. The victims are:

  1. Master Shanti Ranjan Chakma (16), son at Mr. Magya Chakma, of Baghaichari Mukh, Dighinala. He was severely beaten by the army major due to which marks of torture are found on his back.
  2. Mr. Ranjan Kumar Chakma (40), son of Mr. Satyendra Lal Chakma of Babuchara, Dighinala. The victim is the Head Master of Babuchara High School. He was detained at Babuchara Army Camp.

On 6 Apr. 1988, Bangladesh army of 20 East Bengal Regiment, from the army at Boradam led by Lt. Alam tortured an indigenous man in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Bira Bahan Chakma (48) of Rangapani Chara, Dighinala.
