On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

The settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.


Bangladesh army torture an indigenous person in Panchari

On 10 Nov. 1987, Bangladesh army from the army camp at Ganga Ram Para led by Lt. Zakaria arrested and tortured Mr. Maung Shill Marma at Jagadish Chandra Para in Panchari, Khagrachari district.

Bangladesh army arrested and tortured Mr. Marma when he was looking after the buffaloes of Mr. Durga Mohan Chakma of Jagadish Chandra Para.

The victim was thrown into the water and severely beaten with stick. The Lieutenant tortured and beaten the innocent victim. Bangladesh army asked to give information about the Shanti Bahini. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Maung Shill Marma (30), employee of Mr. Durga Mohan Chakma of Jagadish Chandra Para of Pujgang in Panchari.
