Bangladesh army sponsored Muslim settlers

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

The Muslim settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.


Bangladesh army torture and rob indigenous Hindu people in Ruma

On 7 April 1987, a group of 44 Bangladesh army personnel of 18th EBR from Chung-Chang camp at Bospiar Para led by Capt. Shafi raided the indigenous village Chaithong Para in Ruma, Bandarban district. During the raid, Bangladesh army robbed and tortured indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Mecua Tripura (Karbari) (58), son of Mr. Roboshi Tripura of Chaithong Para, Ruma. He was rounded and severely beaten in his own house. The soldiers robbed his household properties like a pet deer, 4 fowls and cash Taka 400.00.
  2. Mr. Soaha Tripura (56), son of Mr. Hasrang Tripura, address as above. He was subjegtgd to inhuman physical torture and beating. The soldiers robbed 7 bullocks.
  3. Mr. Songaram Tripura (50), son of Mr. Romej Tripura, address as above. The soldiers robbed 60 kilograms of rice from him.
  4. Mr. Kesom Rang Tripura (Karbari) (30), son of Mr. Chondoha Tripura, address as above. The soldiers robbed 8 bullocks from his cow shed while he was not in the house.
  5. Mr. Amchang Tripura (20), son of Mr. Gangaram Tripura, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  6. Mr. Bosia Tripura (50), son of Mr. Hasaram Tripura, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  7. Mr. Joltung Bawm (37), son of Mr. Tulik Bawm, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  8. Mr. Tian Kup Bawm (40), son of Mr. Seilei Bawm, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  9. Mr. Peor Tripura (22), son of Mr. Saile Pre Tripura, address as above. He was severely beaten and taken to the army camp.
