Indigenous victims of Naniachar attack

When whole country was celebrating the victory day of the country on 16 Dec 2014, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people in Bagachari area of Naniarchar to evict them from their traditional land. 50 indigenous houses, 7 shops and 1 Buddhist temple were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture an indigenous Chakma Buddhist in Naniachar

On 12 Mar. 1987, Bangladesh army from the Tong Tullys Army Camp led by Lt. Shafiq arrested an innocent indigenous person from his house at Macchya Para in Naniachar, Rangamati district. Lt. Shafiq subjected him to inhuman torture at the army camp.

The victim is Mr. Pushpa Ranjan Chakma (25) son of Mr. Bor Konya Chakma of Macchya Para, Naniachar. He was arrested from his own house and was severely beaten.

Lt. Shafiq searched his house and found nothing objectionable. The officer then started beating and torturing the innocent victim. He was even hung upside down and kicked inhumanly.
