On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Thuimrajai Marma (16) daughter of Mamong Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Bangladesh army rape and torture indigenous Buddhists and Hindus in Panchari

On 25 December 1986, Bangladesh army of 19 EBR from the army camps at Nalkaba and Prodeep Para carried out military operations against the indigenous Buddhist villages Kaligarh Para and Pagajya Chari in Panchari, Khagrachari district. During the operations, many innocent men and women were subjected to inhuman beating, torture and rape. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Sabindra Kumar Tripura (30 yrs), son of Tokro Singh Tripura of Kaligarh Para, Panchari. He was hung upside down from a tree and was beaten severely by the army personnel.
  2. Mr. Jeevan Kumar Tripura (35 yrs), address as above. He was hung upside down from a tree and was beaten severely by the army personnel.
  3. Mr. Kiron Kumar Tripura (32 yrs), address as above. He was hung upside down from a tree and was beaten severely by the army personnel.
  4. Mr. Jnana Bikash Chakma (32 yrs), of Pagajya Chari, Panchari. He was physically tortured in his own home and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again tortured.
  5. Mr. Sonamuni Chakma (40 yrs), son of Mr. Aza Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was physically tortured in his own home and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again tortured.
  6. Mr. Suniti Bihari Khisa (45 yrs), address as above. He is a government employee, serving in the Family Planning Department as an Assistant Family Planning Worker. He was also beaten and tortured as above.
  7. Mr. Nirmal Sen Chakma (35 yrs), address as above. He was also beaten and tortured as above.
  8. Mr. Amrita Lal Chakma (28 yrs), address as above. He was also beaten and tortured as above,
  9. Mr. Chinta Muni Chakma (48 yrs), son of Mr. Chandra Sukh Chakma, address as above. He was also beaten and tortured as above.
  10. Miss. Veena Rani Chakma (18 yrs), daughter of Mr. Otin Chandra Chakma, address as above. She was beaten and gang raped in her house by the army personnel.
  11. Miss. Kalasona Chakma (16 yrs), daughter of Mr. Otin Chandra Chakma, address as above. She was beaten and gang raped in her house by the army personnel.
  12. Mr. Serengo Chakma (45 yrs), son of Mr. Horipodo Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own home and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again tortured.
  13. Mr. Chitra Sukh Chakma of Pagajya Chari, Panchari. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  14. Mr. Jotin Bikash Chakma (26 yrs), son of Mr. Trisurya Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  15. Mr. Vimal Chakma (27 yrs), son of Mr. Chandra Kumar Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  16. Mr. Jotindra Mohan Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  17. Mr. Doyal Kumar Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  18. Mr. Amar Lal Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  19. Mr. Jyotirmoy Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
  20. Mr. Otul Chakma, address as above. He was beaten in his own house and then he was taken to the Primary School at Pagajya Chari where he was again beaten by the Bangladesh army personnel.
